2011 Resolution :)

Salamo Aalikom (Peace upon you) all!
Al Hamdulil Allah I consider myself a positive and optimistic person (most of the time ;)) ...and with only few hours left in 2010 ...am looking forward to 2011! Most importantly I have been working on my "New Year's Resolution” list :))

Truth to be said, few years back I wasn't good at getting any of the tasks/resolutions done...but Al Hamdulil Allah…for the past 2-3 years I managed to write down challenging but achievable goals on my resolution list AND get most of them done! :)
I am still working on my new list...but would love to share with you most of my beauty, health and fashion resolutions :)

I'll be posting the name of the resolution and my practical steps to get it accomplished...and would love to hear your thoughts if you agree or disagree (or have a different experience you'd like to share :) )
Stay tuned: New Year's Resolution Series- Part 1: The Muslim Sunni-wood Smile! :))) Hehee :)

Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Must-Have Series (Part2) :Biker-Look!

I never thought I could experiment with black leather/ biker-style jackets...it just isn't my style...BUT this season I decided to think out of the box and try new things that were "No-No" before...so here is what I came up with! :) Enjoy!

The cross-over black leather bag with chains or studs and a chain-like necklace are essential for the look.
I thought of using a yellow pashmina to brighten up the look and matches well with the yellow flowers (in the dress)  :)
Hope you like it!

Dress : H&M
Boots & Necklace & Bag : Monsoon

Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Must-Have Series (Part1) : Leopard Attack!

I think all of you fashionistas noticed that Leopard print/pattern is available in each and every store you walk in.
My advice is to use only one leopard print item at a time and keep the rest of the look plain and simple. If you aren't a very big fan of this pattern, then use leopard pattern accessories (shoes, scarf or go funky and try a hat) to get the trendy, up-to-date look without overspending :))

Stay tuned! I'll be posting how I used a leopard print item to update my wardrobe ;)

Scarf : H&M
The rest : ZARA

DIY Pedicure :)

Step 1 :
Soak your feet in a soothing foot bath of lemon slices and warm water. Pat dry and make sure you dry between your toes carefully after bathing.

Step 2 :
Use the flat side of a pumice stone to get rid of hard skin on the soles of your feet. Don't rub too vigorously- a gentle rubbing is fine.

Step 3 :
Trim your nails with nail clippers. You should always cut them straight across, to prevent in-growing toe nails.

Step 4 :
Using an emery board, file nails smooth .File from the outer corners inwards until you get them the shape you want.

Step 5 :
Use an orange stick tipped with cotton wool to clean under your nails. Ease back the cuticles gently.

Step 6 :
Option 1 : Massage body lotion into your feet  and toe nails. Work upwards towards your ankles and calves.
Option 2 : You could try a foot mask. Massage the mask on, watch your favourite T.V show then rinse off.

An Extra Tip :
If you are suffering from very dry soles, apply a thick/heavy moisturizer ( Cocoa Butter based) or Olive oil and wear cotton socks through the night. Result GUARANTEED!
