Oatmeal Facial Scrub:
Purpose: Deep cleanse and soften the skin.
- Place 2 heaped tablespoons of fine oatmeal in a saucer.
- Add 3 drops of cleansing mandarin essential oil.
- Add (gradually) spring water to the mixture to form a thick paste.
- Rub gently into your face, concentrating on the forehead ,chin and nose area , and avoiding the eye area.
- Carefully rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.
Toning Body Oil:
Purpose: Massage oil for cellulite.
Used twice a week and stored for a week in the fridge.
- Place 25ml of grapeseed and 25ml of apricot kernel carrier oils in a clean 50ml dark glass/amber bottle and shake together.
- Add 5 drops of Juniper essential oil and 5 drops of grapefruit essential oil.
- Apply to problem areas with firm,circular movements.
Purpose: Skin toner, to soothe sore or sunburned areas.
Stored for a week in the fridge.
- Place a bunch of freshly washed herbs (chamomile flowers, lavender,spearmint) in a heatproof dish.
- Pour over enough boiling water to cover the herbs , put the lid over the mixture and leave to infuse for about an hour.
- Carefully strain through a sieve to remove the herbs , then bottle the liquid and refrigerate.
- Apply to face (or body) after cleansing using a piece of cotton. (Do not rinse off)
I am definitely going to have to try these! Great recipes! I prefer homemade facial care to the store bought!
